Drive Through Flu Clinic Scheduled In Toccoa Tomorrow

The Stephens County Health Dept will hold a drive-thru flu shot clinic tomorrow, Nov. 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Stephens County Health Department, 64 N. Blvd in Toccoa.  

According to the CDC, everyone 6 months of age and older should get a flu shot, especially those with certain medical conditions who may experience more severe illnesses from the flu virus.

Regular flu, FluBlock and High Dose Flu shots will be available.  Both FlueBlock and High-Dose shots are recommended and approved by the CDC for people 65 years old and older. 

No appointments are necessary and participants will remain in their vehicles at all times. 

The flu vaccine is free to anyone with Medicare, Medicaid, and most commercial insurances. Call 706-282-4507 to confirm commercial insurance coverage. 

If an individual chooses to pay out of pocket, the cost is $30 for the regular flu vaccine and $66 for the high-dose.

Individuals who would like to receive their flu shot at drive-thru clinics must be 18 years old and older.
