Dr. Pinkerton named SCH’s Interim CEO

With the recent departure of Stephens County Hospital’s former Chief Executive Officer Roger Forgey, Dr. Stephen Pinkerton will now serve as Interim CEO until the Stephens County Hospital hires a new CEO.

Pinkerton has provided medical services to Stephens County since 1991.

During his time as Interim CEO, Pinkerton will continue to work as a full-time surgeon as well as perform his administrative duties at the hospital.

Because of Pinkerton’s commitment to Stephens County Hospital and willingness to serve in an interim role, it allows the leadership of the hospital to move forward with strategic plans for 2019 under his direction.

In a written statement, Pinkerton said quote “I look forward to working with the leadership team at Stephens County Hospital during the transition time to a permanent CEO. As a surgeon in the community, I know how important our community hospital is and I am grateful to be a part of this turnaround.”

Pinkerton’s General Surgery Practice is located near the hospital at 27 Rock Quarry Road, Toccoa.

In other news, Stephens County Hospital has named Dr. Katie McKinney as Chief of Obstetrics.

McKinney attended the University of Georgia for her Undergrad, St. George University for Medical School, and finished her education with her Residency at Louisiana State University.

She is fluent in Spanish and has been practicing medicine for almost 2 years.

In a written statement, McKinney says she is looking forward to serving the community and the adventures that 2019 will bring.
