DPH Reports Four More Deaths in Stephens Due to Covid-19

The Georgia Department of Public Health is reporting four more deaths in Stephens County due to complications of Covid-19, the most in one day in Stephens since the beginning of the pandemic, bringing the total death count in the county to 56. 25 more residents tested positive for the virus since Monday bringing that total to 2,405.

The latest report was released Tuesday afternoon.

The latest report shows two additional deaths in Habersham County, bringing that total to 99 and now 3,939 positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties,  Franklin County is now reporting an additional death bringing that total to 25 and now 1,873 positive cases, Rabun County is still reporting 23 deaths and now 1,189 cases, Hart County is still reporting 23 deaths and now 1,349 cases, and Banks County is still reporting 20 deaths and now 1,296 cases.

Since last week the number of positive tests across the state have been consistently high of nearly 6,000 or more daily. According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, around 6,000 more cases were documented since Monday bringing that total to 648,694, of those, 45,177 have been hospitalized and the total death count due to complications of the virus has now risen to 10,444.
