DPH Reports Covid-19 Related Death in Stephens County

The Georgia Department of Public Health is reporting another death in Stephens County due to complications of Covid-19, the first death reported in the county in almost three weeks, bringing the total to 42.

DPH is now reporting 1,288 positive cases of the virus in Stephens County since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report was released Friday afternoon.

The latest report still has Habersham County with 78 deaths, and now 1,900 total positive cases of the virus.

Locally, the Covid-19 update from the Stephens County School System for the week ending October 30, 2020 showed an increase in numbers from the week before. The update is as follows:

3 staff members with a positive Covid-19 test.

1 staff member quarantined at home.

65 students quarantined at home.

2 students with a positive Covid-19 test

3,929 students currently enrolled in-person and virtually.

536 current employees.

Again, these numbers represent current active cases as of 10/30/20 and are not a running total.

The latest Georgia Department of Public Health report still has Habersham County with 78 deaths, and now 1,900 total positive cases of the virus

In other neighboring counties, Hart County is still reporting 17 deaths and now 587 cases, Franklin County has had a total of 18 deaths and now 955 positive cases,  Rabun County is still  reporting 11 deaths and now 434 cases, and Banks County is still reporting 8 deaths, but now 563 cases.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is now reporting a total of 358,225 cases, of those, 31,606 have been hospitalized and 7,955 have died from complications of the virus.
