DPH now reports 122 cases of COVID-19 in Stephens County

The Georgia Department of Public Health is now reporting 122 cases of COVID-19 in Toccoa-Stephens County.

To date, Stephens County has had two deaths due to complications from COVID-19.

Habersham County continues to be the county hit the hardest in our area with 479 positive cases of the virus and 18 fatalities due to complications from the virus.

Locally, at Stephens County Hospital, staff have tested 866 individuals for the virus.

Of those, 94 tests have come back positive, 742 received negative results, and 30 individuals are still awaiting their results.

According to hospital staff, of those 94 who have tested positive at Stephens County Hospital and its facilities, 81 have now fully recovered from COVID-19.

In other neighboring counties, Banks County has a total of 75 cases, Rabun County has 15 cases and one death, Franklin County has 35 cases and one death, and Hart County has 26 cases.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is reporting a total of 41,127 cases, of those, 7,294 have been hospitalized and 1,783 have died from complications of the virus.
