DPH Latest Covid Report-Habersham Now at 100 Deaths

The Georgia Department of Public Health is still reporting 56 deaths in Stephens County since the beginning of the pandemic and 2,427 have tested positive for the virus.

The latest report was released Wednesday afternoon.

The latest report shows an additional death in Habersham County, bringing that total now to 100 and now 3,976 positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties, Rabun County is reporting two more deaths for a total now of 25 and now 1,193 cases, Franklin County is still reporting 25 deaths and now 1,888 positive cases, Hart County is still reporting 23 deaths and now 1,365 cases, and Banks County is still reporting 20 deaths and now 1,306 cases.

Since last week the number of positive tests across the state have been consistently high of nearly 6,000 or more daily. According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, around 6,000 more cases were documented since Tuesday bringing that total to 654,356, of those, 45,533 have been hospitalized and 136 more deaths since Tuesday due to complications of the virus bringing the total to 10,580.
