Donna Grist Wilburn
Donna Grist Wilborn, age 94, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 27, 2025 at the Overlook in Toccoa.
A daughter of the late Rush and Zella Bradley Grist, she was born in Dillard, GA on July 11, 1931. One of eight siblings, she was preceded in death by brother, Herschel Grist and sisters, Bertie Bleckley, Elizabeth Page, Florence Dillard, Lucille Enloe, and Lois Tye. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roland Wilborn.
Donna graduated from Rabun Gap Nacoochee School and was a star basketball player. She joined the United States Army, May 15, 1951, where she met a good-looking man, Roland Wilborn. They spent 20 years of Army Life moving from base to base and retired in Rabun County. She retired from Rabun County School System as a school bus driver. Donna was a member of Head of Tennessee Baptist Church in Dillard, GA.
Family members include her daughter, Frenda Moore; and grandson, Geromy Lanich and his wife Nicole; great-grandson, Joe and Grayson; and her sister, Muriel Boyd.
The family would like to express appreciation for all the wonderful care she received at the Overlook Assisted Living, the Clary Care Center, and Amedisys Hospice.
The family will receive friends at Whitlock Mortuary from 10 am until 11 am Friday morning, January 2, 2026.
Graveside services will be held at twelve noon Friday, January 2, 2026 at the Head of Tennessee Baptist Church Cemetery in Dillard, GA. Burial will follow.
