Deadline to participate in annual Downtown Toccoa Storefront Window Contest is this week
The deadline to participate in the annual Downtown Toccoa Storefront Window Contest is fast approaching.
According to Main Street Manager Christian Hamilton, the deadline to sign up is Thursday, December 5.
Hosted by Main Street Toccoa the annual Downtown Toccoa Storefront Window Contest will run throughout the month of December.
Hamilton says all month long, downtown businesses will decorate their storefronts in a theme of their choosing to promote holiday cheer in the historic downtown district.
This year, cash prizes will be awarded. First place will take home $250, second place will get $150, and $100 will be awarded for third place.
Should a downtown business wish to enter the contest, they must submit up to two photographs to Hamilton via email by Thursday, December 5, at 5 p.m.
Main Street staff will not be taking photos for the contest.
Hamilton says that judging will be done by popular vote and physical judges, he adds that votes may be cast online at mainstreettoccoa.com/photo-voting from December 6 through December 31.
The public may only vote once.
In addition to the popular vote, two judges will also review each storefront, and votes will be averaged together to determine the winners.
Winners will be announced following the completion of the competition.
Again, to participate in the contest, businesses will need to submit two photos to Hamilton at email@example.com no later than Thursday, December 5, at 5 p.m.
