Dallas man attempts to cash stolen check at local bank

A Dallas man has been arrested after attempting to cash a stolen check.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, on Tuesday, his officers were dispatched to Regions Bank, in downtown Toccoa, in reference to a person attempting to cash a stolen check.

The person was later identified as Dylan Dodson.

As officers arrived at the bank, Dodson fled in the opposite direction toward Tugalo Street.

Following a brief chase, Dodson was apprehended by officers.

Mize tells WNEG News that officers recovered the stolen check and a counterfeit Georgia driver’s license that Dodson attempted to pass, from bank employees.

On Dodson’s person, officers uncovered a pouch containing a credit card with residue believed to be methamphetamine.

Dylan Thomas Dodson, 24, of Dallas, Georgia was arrested and charged with forgery, obstruction, possession of methamphetamine and theft of stolen property.
