Community invited to Faith and Blue Events
The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office and the Toccoa Police Department are teaming up with local churches to present a weekend, October 10-12, full of activities as part of Faith and Blue, a nationwide initiative that brings law enforcement and local faith-based organizations together to strengthen community relationships.
Toccoa Police Chief Bruce Carlisle is excited to bring this back to the community for another year.
The Faith and Blue Weekend kicks off Friday night, October 10, with a Meet and Greet at Ebenezer Baptist Church from 5-7 p.m., adds Chief Carlisle.
On Saturday, October 11, two events are scheduled in downtown Toccoa, says Chief Carlisle.
Local law enforcement will be conducting rolling tours on Sunday, October 12, adds Chief Carlisle.
Sgt. Mack Scott hopes everyone will participate in the Faith and Blue Weekend.
Stephens County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Rebekah Smith has also been instrumental in coordinating events. If you are interested in representing your public safety agency, faith-based non-profit organization, recovery center, or local church at any of these events, contact Sgt. Scott at 706-244-4013 or Officer Smith at 706-599-0652.
