By Brittany Ivey, President/CEO of the Stephens County Development Authority

Stephens County High School Work-Based Learning March Student of the Month, Addison Colbert, was recognized at First Franklin last Tuesday surrounded by her family and fellow employees. She has been employed at First Franklin Financial Investment Center since October 2022 and has proven to be an asset to her team.

Her mentor and supervisor at First Franklin Financial Investment Center, Sara Baskins, shares, “Addie is a pleasure to work with. She demonstrates a remarkable work ethic and is always willing to help the team accomplish tasks! She has already shown she can handle responsibility, so college is just her next adventure. This is only the beginning of an exciting journey for Addie, and we can’t wait to see her do amazing things!”

Stacey Hemphill, Graphic Communications Teacher and Yearbook Adviser, commends her dedication and character.  “She exemplifies the qualities of an ideal student. She consistently arrives on time, demonstrates a strong work ethic, and maintains a positive attitude. Loved by her peers, she serves as an exemplary role model both inside and outside the classroom.” Under Mrs. Hemphill’s direction, Addison has been an integral member of the Yearbook class for two years, and she participated in the Skills USA Opening and Closing Ceremonies, where her group received second place at the State Competition.

In addition to her work experience, Addison is a dual enrollment student and has successfully completed the Spanish Pathway by taking Spanish I, II, and III. She is currently working toward completing the Business Pathway. As an active member of the National Honor Society and the Anchor Club, Addison is also involved in choir and the youth group at Sunnyside Baptist Church. Addison is looking forward to attending Mercer University in the Fall where she will continue to focus on her business pathway.

Thank you to SCDA, Bulldog Carwash and SouthState Bank for sponsoring the March Student of the Month.
