City of Toccoa invites Community to come honor Fire Chief 

After 44 years of dedicated service to the City of Toccoa, Fire Chief Jeff Haslup is retiring. At Monday night’s (August 31) meeting of the Toccoa City Commission, City Manager Fredda Wheeler invited the community to a retirement reception for Chief Haslup.

“Jeff has been here for a long time. At this time, I would like to invite everyone to a retirement reception for Chief Haslup. It will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. here in the City Commission Room. Jeff will be retiring from the City of Toccoa after 44 years of dedicated service to the City of Toccoa. Jeff is loved. He is respected, and he is known by people in Toccoa, Stephens County, and all the surrounding areas, but even more so than that, Jeff has an international brotherhood. Last week, I received an email from the fire chief in Germany. He asked me if I would read this letter to you.”
