A City of Toccoa employee has tested positive for Covid-19.

Toccoa City Manager Billy Morse informed the media this afternoon. “The Georgia Department of Public Health confirmed the positive test this afternoon. At their request, City HR is identifying all individuals that had close contact with the positive employee. Close contact is defined as within six feet for more than 10 minutes. We have identified those employees. No one from the general public made contact.

All individuals that had close contact (6′ for 10 minutes), are requested to self-monitor themselves for symptoms for one week. Symptoms are fever greater than 100.4 degrees, cough and shortness of breath. None of them are experiencing symptoms at this time.

If they do develop symptoms over the next week, then they are requested to self-isolate (quarantine) themselves.”

This is the 3rd positive case of Covid-19 in Stephens County according to the Georgia Department of Public Health. There are also three positive cases in Franklin County, two in Hart County, and one in Banks County.
