Children’s Costume Parade deemed a success

Main Street Toccoa’s annual Children’s Costume Parade was a success.

Hundreds of tiny trick-or-treaters lined up outside the Historic Ritz Theatre for the annual Children’s Costume parade and costume contest.

Sponsored by Toccoa Main Street, Main Street Manager Christian Hamilton says this year’s event was successful.

Businesses filled the aisles at the Ritz to fill children’s baskets and bags with candy as they passed by.

Children were also treated to juice and cookies at the end of their candy walk.

And as it does every year, the parade ended with the announcement of the winners for best costumes.

Toccoa Mayor Gail Fry was one of this year’s judges.

She said they had a difficult time picking the best costumes.

Winners were chosen in three categories.

In the Age 2 and Under category, 3rd Place went to Ryman Dickerson for their banana split costume; 2nd Place went to Rogue Gunn for her Cabbage Patch Doll costume; and 1st Place was awarded to Kora Duley for her Raggedy Ann costume.

In the Age 3 category, 3rd Place went to Zayn Dooley for his fireman costume; 2nd Place went to Wyatt Linkous for his Slinky Dog costume; and 1st Place went to Bryna Thompson for her Chicken costume.

In the Age 4 and Over category, 3rd Place went to Lucas Holbrooks for his Diesel 10 costume; 2nd Place went to Isaiah Overstreet for his Buzz Lightyear costume; and 1st Place was awarded to Carson and Mason Beaver for their Bubble Gum Shoe costume.

The overall costume winner was Lathan Watkins and Adilyn Rigdon for their Bam Bam and Pebbles costumes.
