Chamber welcomes Underdog’s Convenience Store to Toccoa-Stephens County

The Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce recently celebrated one of its newest members, Underdog’s Convenience Store, with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Underdog’s Convenience Store is located at 3436 Hwy 17, in Toccoa.

Owner Chris Bradberry says the name Underdog comes from the story about a group of racecar drivers that were the underdog because they didn’t have a sponsor.

He says, life is like that too.

Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce President Julie Paysen thanked Bradberry for his investment in Toccoa-Stephens County.

“We are always so grateful for people who choose to invest here,” she said. “We know you could have gone in any county, but you chose Toccoa-Stephens County and we’re grateful.”

Stephens County Commissioner James Addison offered the aid of the county to Bradberry.

“On behalf of the county, I want to say ‘thank you.’ With you investing your money in Stephens County means a lot to the Commissioners, the County, and the City. If there’s anything that we can do for you, don’t hesitate,” he said.

Bradberry says Underdog’s Convenience Store is unique from other stores.

“It’s clean. We’re American and Locally owned. We keep it clean, we have a Keno Room, just come in get a product that’s a few cents cheaper than anywhere else, safe some money, and have a laugh,” Brandberry said.

A Grand Opening at Underdog’s Convenience Store is scheduled for Saturday, February 22, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Bradberry says there will be free hotdogs and other goodies for anyone who comes in during the celebration.

Underdog’s Convenience Store is open Monday through Wednesday from 6:30 a.m. until 9 p.m., Thursday through Saturday from 6:30 a.m. until 10 p.m., and on Sundays from 8:00 a.m. until 9 p.m.
