Chairman to present 2024 Employee of the Year Award At Tuesday Meeting
Stephens County Board of Commissioners will meet tonight, Dec. 10, at 6 p.m. for a regularly scheduled meeting. The meeting will take place at the Historic Courthouse, 37 West Tugalo Street in Toccoa.
On the agenda for the meeting is the announcement of the 2024 County Employee of the Year.
The Board Chair is also slated to recognize Stephens County Middle School and Stephens County High School football teams.
Other items of business on the agenda include the first reading of a new alcohol license application for Rainbow River Corporation, located at 46 Seven Forks Road in Martin. The owners, under firm Dhaka Traders, already operate a business in the County that holds a county alcohol control license for Green Food Mart.
Also on the agenda is consideration of a motion to re-allocate all remaining American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) dollars to the Capital Projects Fund – this action is taken to comply with ARPA regulations that state all funds must be obligated by Dec. 31 of this year. If either of those deadlines is not met, the county will be required to return the funds.
Other action items on tonight’s agenda include consideration of a motion to enter into Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) for payment of expenses associated with the Mountain Judicial Circuit (MJC) among Banks County, Habersham County, Rabun County, and Stephens County.
