Mrs. Lorraine Price Perkins, age 96 of Toccoa passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Hospice Center in Gainesville. She was born to the late Winfred Price and Mary Garner Price on March 20, 1925 in Franklin County, Georgia. She lived most of her life in Stephens County and was preceded in death by her husband, J. R. Perkins, sisters, Ione Morris, Genora Price, Faye Dickerson, halfsisters, Irene Yearwood, Naomi Gant, Louise Hardy and Gloria Jean Gibson and by step-brothers, Jule, Bury, Dorsey and Jim Hardy. Lorraine was an office clerk during World War II at Camp Toccoa at Currahee and was later employed with Coats and Clark. She managed Martha Parks dress shop and several other retail stores and later co- owned and operated L & L Fabrics.
