Bulldogs Take Both Games with Indians in Hartwell
The Hart County Bulldogs swept a pair of games over Stephens County Friday night in Hartwell.
The Indians boys got off to a great start in the nightcap to lead by as many as 9 points in the 1st half but trailed by a point in the half.
The 2nd half was all Bulldogs outscoring the Indians 36–19 and rolling to a 66-48 victory.
Both teams placed three players in double figures with Kursten Curry leading the way for Hart with 19 points. Ramarcus Simpson added 15 points and Zayden Leverett 14 for the Bulldogs now 10-9 overall and 2-2 in region-8 AA play.
Stephens County, now 4-15 overall and 1-3 in the region, was led by Jayden Haynie with 12 points, Colsen Ivey added 11, and Isiah Patterson 10.
In the girls contest, the Hart County Lady Dogs led 25-8 after the 1st quarter and coasted to a 60-32 win.
Kiasia Montgomery led a balanced scoring attack for Hart County with 15 points. Hart County improved to 12-7 overall and 3-1 in the region.
Lanesia Verdell led Stephens County with 13 points. The Lady Indians fall to 7-11 overall and 1-3 in the region.
Both Stephens County teams will return to Currahee Arena on Tuesday when they host Prince Avenue Christian. Game time begins at 6 P.M. with airtime at 5:45 P.M. on WNEG.
