Toccoa Boil Water Advisory Lifted

The city of Toccoa boil water advisory is over.

Toccoa city officials lifted the advisory Saturday afternoon.

The city said that at about 1 p.m. Saturday, the city notified the Georgia Environmental Protection Division that all water system samples tested negative for harmful bacteria.

That means none was found and as a result, the EPD authorized the city to lift the advisory that had been in effect since a 14-inch water main on Falls Road ruptured due to below freezing temperatures.

Toccoa officials said they want to express their gratitude for the patience and understanding of citizens while crews worked around the clock to resolve the issue.
