BREAKING: GSP releases additional details regarding fatal accident that occurred on Hwy 106

The Georgia State Patrol has released additional details regarding the fatal accident that occurred Sunday, March 26, on Highway 106 near New Hope Road.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, a white 2002 Ford F-150 driven by 77-year-old Janie Pulliam, of Toccoa, failed to maintain its lane on Georgia 106, causing a green 2019 Kawasaki motorcycle, driven by 44-year-old James Kelley, to strike the truck head on.

The motorcyclist was thrown fifty feet into a ditch where he succumbed to his injuries.

The GSP report a small fire broke out after the crash.

Troop B SCRT was called in to assist with the crash investigation.

Charges are pending against Pulliam.
