Boys, Girls Indians Struggle on Hardcourt in Holiday Tournament

The Stephens County Indians Girls and Boys Basketball teams wrapped up three days of play in the Jackson County holiday tournament on Monday afternoon with both teams falling to Commerce for the 3rd time this season.

The Lady Indians  again fell to the Lady Tigers, but this time in the final seconds by a score of 47-46. The Lady Indians went 1-2 in the tournament and finished in sixth place overall.

The Stephens County girls are now 2-10 overall.

On the boys side, Commerce rolled to a 67-39 victory over the Indians dropping Stephens County to last place in the tournament and an overall record of 1-10.

Both teams will have a quick turnaround today with games in Mt. Airy at Habersham Central. The girls game is set to begin at 2 P.M. followed by the boys. WNEG will broadcast both games with airtime scheduled for 1:45 P.M.
