Both Toccoa All-Star Baseball teams play again tonight
Both Toccoa Little League All-Star baseball teams had big wins Wednesday night at Doyle Street Park here in Toccoa, the site of the District 7 Tournaments for 2 age divisions.
In the first game, Toccoa’s 10 & under baseball team defeated Habersham, 11 to 6, in 7 innings.
The game was tied at 6 after 6 innings, but in the top of the 7th, Toccoa scored 5 runs on just 3 hits and aggressive base running to get the win.
Toccoa will have a re-match with Franklin County, who defeated Toccoa Monday night, 8 to 5. But Toccoa will have to defeat Franklin twice to win the District 7 crown.
Game time is scheduled for 6 pm tonight (Thursday).
In the second game Wednesday night, Toccoa’s 11 & under baseball team trailed Hart County, 3 to 2, but in the top of the 6th inning, Toccoa scored 3 runs for the win, 5 to 3.
Toccoa pitcher Findley Ward pitched the complete game giving up only 6 hits and striking out 7.
Toccoa and Hart will play again tonight–if Toccoa wins, they will be District 7 champs.
WNEG will broadcast a doubleheader tonight (Thursday) featuring the two Toccoa teams with airtime at 5:45.
