Bell completes Specialty Track Certification

Stephens County Commissioner Dennis Bell recently received recognition from The University of Georgia and The Association of County Commissioners in Savannah, Georgia.

Bell completed the rigorous course load required to complete the Specialty Track Certification for Public Safety through the Lifelong Learning Academy from The University of Georgia and The Association of County Commissioners on April 27.

Stephens County Clerk Beth Rider told WNEG News about Bell’s recent accomplishment.

“We are so proud of Commissioner Dennis Bell for his recent accomplishment,” Rider said. “Bell completed the all of the necessary classes needed to receive his Specialty Track certification in Public Safety.”

Rider added that through the many courses completed, Bell was able to network with other County Commissioners and staff from all over Georgia; thus, allowing him to gain insight on various issues, projects and outcomes the other counties experience.

To become certified in a Specialty Track, you must complete 48 hours of course work specific to the track—18 hours are designated to cross-over courses.

Each of the Stephens County Commissioners are working toward completing the course load required to gain certification in an array of specialties.
