ALERT Stephens County now available to residents

Stephens County Emergency Management has announced that ALERT Stephens County is now available to all residents.

ALERT Stephens County is a free service that allows individuals to sign-up for notifications sent from state and local authorities.

According to Stephens County Emergency Management Director Danielle Rhodes the notifications keep residents and travellers informed, in real-time, on potentially hazardous situations involving weather, traffic and other emergencies.

ALERT Stephens County enables residents to sign up for free at Smart911.com to receive timely and actionable emergency alerts via email, text or voice messages.

Rhodes says that when residents sign up for alerts, they can also identify when and how they are alerted and communicated with before, during, and after emergencies.

She encourages all members of the community and their families to sign up for ALERT Stephens County in order to be prepared in the event an emergency occurs.

Rhodes says the notification is free for residents to use.
