Addison selected as Voting Delegate for 2022 Legislative Leadership Conference

The Stephens County Board of Commissioners recently appointed a legislative voting delegate for the 2022 Legislative Leadership Conference.

During the Commissioners’ regular scheduled meeting last week, County Administrator Phyllis Ayers explained that the board would need to appoint a delegate from the board to attend the Legislative Leadership Conference.

Chairman James Addison was selected as the voting delegate.

A motion was made by Commissioner Dean Scarborough with Commissioner Michelle Ivester seconding the motion.

The motion was approved unanimously.

Then, during the same meeting, the Commission awarded the bid for the greenhouse.

Ayers explained that Darin Critchlow’s bid of $351 was the only bid.

As WNEG News previously reported, the Commission approved a motion to deem the greenhouse at the Stephens County Senior Center as surplus during a meeting in May.

At that meeting, Ayers explained that the greenhouse was originally purchased for a program the county had started several years ago that never gained traction.

Commissioner Debbie Whitlock said she remembers when they originally had the idea for the greenhouse; but didn’t remember the cost.

The group added that it was purchased through a grant.

Ivester made a motion awarding Critchlow the bid for the greenhouse with Whitlock seconding the motion.

The motion was approved unanimously.
