9/11 WNEG Scheduling Notes

In a few WNEG scheduling notes, WNEG will be adding the audio recordings of the Back To School Special programs from each school to wnegnews.com throughout the day today, with all programs scheduled to be online by tomorrow morning, Sept. 12.

Also, as mentioned during WNEG News reports yesterday, WNEG News met with Stephens County School Superintendent Dr. Connie Franklin and Assistant Superintendent John Stith yesterday to talk about school safety in light of the recent school shooting in Barrow County and the growing number of threats of school violence and student arrests, not only in Stephens and other Northeast Georgia Counties, but school systems across the state and communities nationwide, with threats and arrests being reported in Washington State, California, New York, Chicago, Florida, North Carolina, Alabama and more, and last night, Sept. 10, a 15-year-old student  was critically injured in a school shooting in Omaha, Nebraska and a 14-year-old student was arrested for the shooting.

WNEG News will air portions of that interview throughout the news cycle tomorrow, with a full special report during the 8:11 a.m. broadcast, and extended coverage available online on wnegradio.com tomorrow afternoon.

WNEG News has requested incident reports from Georgia State Patrol regarding recent vehicle crashes that occurred in Toccoa/Stephens County, including a roll-over crash on Hwy. 365/17 near Trestle Ridge Road yesterday, and will provide details on those crashes as soon as information is made available.
