Main Street Toccoa Adds Six New Wayfinding Signs to Downtown

New wayfinding signs like this one can be seen throughout downtown Toccoa

Main Street Toccoa has recently completed its Phase II of their Downtown Wayfinding Signage program in Downtown Toccoa.

Main Street Manager Christian Hamilton said Toccoa received a $10,000 Tourism Product Development Grant from the Georgia Department of Economic Development to complete the signage project.

“These wayfinding signs will help lead residents and visitors alike to tourism destinations in Downtown Toccoa,” Hamilton said. “A lot of downtowns have wayfinding signage that specifically targets tourism desintations.”

Toccoa received its first grant in 2016 to install the first set of signs.

The new signs are located at or near six downtown intersections: Alexander & Doyle Streets, Sage & Doyle Streets, Tugalo & Sage Streets, Pond & Foreacre Streets, Sage & Foreacre Streets, and Sage & Currahee Streets.

“We are exceedingly thankful to the State for their willingness to not only help us visualize how to market our tourism assets in Toccoa, but to provide us the funding to make these projects a reality,” said Main Street Manager Christian Hamilton. “We always enjoy working with the Georgia Department of Economic Development in promotion of our great community and look forward to future partnerships.”
