Chick-Fil-A Opens This Week in Lavonia

It’s an exciting week for City of Lavonia residents as well as citizens from Franklin and Stephens Counties with the grand opening of the new Chick-Fil-A restaurant Thursday.

But the grand opening Thursday will be preceded by the Company’s traditional First 100 Campout on Wednesday.

Chick-fil-A Operator Will Lowe says customers are invited to come campout and wait for the doors to open at 6a Wednesday morning for a special prize.

“Wednesday, we have the First 100 Campout,” he said. “And each person will receive a year’s worth of Chick-Fil-A. I do believe we’ll be easily packed with the first 100 people for sure.”

A valid ID that contains your ZIP code is required to participate.

Now if more than 100 people show up to participate in the First 100 Campout, the first 100 participants will be selected by a random drawing.

Then on Thursday, Lowe says they will have the official grand opening.

“On Thursday, we will have our flag raising at 9a and we’ll have the local fire and police department on hand. We will also have our ribbon cutting with the Franklin County and Lavonia Chambers,” he explained. “One thing about our store is we’re going to be a community restaurant. That’s what I want. We’re going to help the community. We’re going to reach out. We’re going to be a light in the community. That’s what I want, for sure.

One way the Lavonia Chick Fil-A will be supporting the community is with a Children’s Book Drive.

Lowe says the children’s books will be collected and donated to Harmony House Child Advocacy Center in Royston.

“One of the cool things I get to do as the owner of the restaurant with Chick-Fil-A is partner with a local foundation annd give them books. So, we give a certain amount of books with the Chick-Fil-A sponsorship. It can be a mixture of different books, but whatever they need, it goes straight to them,” Lowe said.

Lowe said there will be a display where people can drop off new and used children books in the store through Grand Opening Week at a three-foot Book House built from reclaimed wood.

Lowe comes to the area from Auburn, Georgia where he owns his first Chick-fil-A.

A 2010 graduate of Valdosta State Univeristy, Lowe is one of Chick-Fil-A’s star franchisees, named Chick-Fil-A Rookie of the Year in 2015 as well as a number of other Company awards.

He and his wife Ashley and their young daughter recently purchased a home in Toccoa.
