If you’re planning to do a lot of fishing this year in Georgia you will want to pick up a copy of the just-released 2019 Georgia Sport Fishing Regulations Guide.

Matt Thomas is the fisheries management chief with the Georgia Wildlife Resources Division Fisheries Management Division.

Thomas tells WNEG News the guide provides helpful information for all anglers, whether experienced or beginners.

“Any angler that is looking for new places to fish, changes to laws and regulations or other information should begin with this publication,” he said.  “Our biologists and staff do their best to make sure this guide book has the most current and accurate information and anglers can easily access it online, from our Outdoors GA app or in the printed copy.”

The guide includines color fish identification charts for both freshwater and saltwater fish, license purchasing information, trout stream listings, public fishing area information, state record fish listings, fishing regulations for Georgia and more.

Anglers can get a copy of the 2019 Sport Fishing Regulations Guide either online at 2019 Georgia Sport Fishing Guide or through the Outdoors GA app on your iPhone or Android phone.

You can also stop by a DNR Wildlife Resources Division office and pick up a hard copy guide.
