Two Stephens County women were injured when their vehicle was struck by a dump truck at the intersection of Ga. 17 and Ga. 106 near Toccoa on Thursday.

According to officials with the Georgia State Patrol, Emily Baggett, of Toccoa, was driving a Mazda 6 northbound on Ga. 106 (Mize Road) approaching Ga. 17 (Toccoa Bypass).

Baggett failed to stop at the red light, before entering the intersection of Ga. 106 and Ga. 17, where she was struck by a dump truck on the driver side of her vehicle.

Following the collision, the dump truck left the roadway, crashing through the guardrail, rolling onto its side as it went down the embankment. The sedan also struck the guardrail but remained on the edge of the bank.
