A concert coming up next month will look to raise money for the Toccoa-Stephens County YMCA.
The concert will take place in the Garrison Auditorium at the Georgia Baptist Conference Center in Toccoa on Saturday, September 14 at 6:30 p.m.
David LaMotte will perform at the concert.
Toccoa-Stephens County YMCA CEO Robin Dake said LaMotte is a very talented musician who will put on a great show.
“David LaMotte is an independent musician that I have been a fan of for years,” said Dake. “He tells stories during his shows that are funny and insightful and then he plays just wonderful music. He is an amazing guitar player and a wonderful musician.”
She compared his musical genre to that of artists such as James Taylor.
Tickets are $25 each for the 90 minute to two-hour show.
Dake said the money raised will help the YMCA give back to the community by helping people have access to the Y’s programs.
“When something is benefiting the Y, it is ultimately benefiting the community because we take money from our fundraisers and use it towards our scholarships,” said Dake. “We give scholarships for every program we have.”
Those programs range from memberships to summer camp and after-school programs, said Dake.
Tickets can be purchased at the YMCA on Big A Road in Toccoa or online at mytoccoa.com.
Tickets will also be available at the door on the night of the show at the Georgia Baptist Conference Center.
