Wrestling season is getting underway at Stephens County High School.

The varsity season starts Tuesday at Rabun County.

Indian Wrestling Coach Jake Setzer said that he is looking forward to having strong turnout for this year’s team and a good season this winter.

“For varsity, I am expecting about 30 kids out,” said Setzer. “We have about 14 kids that have actually had varsity experience. This should be a decent year. I do not want to make too big of a prediction, but I expect us to hopefully finish in the top half of the region. Top four would be a reasonable goal for us.”

Meanwhile, he said turnout is strong for the Middle School wrestling team.

Stephens County Middle School started its wrestling season earlier this month.
