The Georgia Department of Transportation said work will continue on a stretch of Interstate 85 north of the Banks Crossing area through July.
Crews are working weeknights between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. as weather permits to replace aging sections of concrete on a section of I-85 north beginning north of the Banks Crossing interchange and continuing for five miles to the State Route 63 exit.
According to the DOT, the right or outside lane will be closed for concrete slab maintenance.
Delays are expected as approximately a one-mile section of one northbound lane is closed while crews perform the work.
The DOT asked motorists to avoid the area if possible overnight as work occurs.
