Windstream Claims Software Issue To Blame For Friday Internet Outage

Windstream officials said Tuesday that a software configuration error was to blame for a widespread Internet outage in the area late last week.

A company spokesman said the software issue began at about 4 p.m. Thursday and was not completely resolved until about 5 p.m. Friday.

According to the spokesman, about 18,000 customers throughout the region were affected by the problem.
