Those who are not yet registered to vote are running out of time to do so in order to vote in this November’s election.
Stephens County Registrar Theresa Kelley said that the voter registration deadline for November is today.
“They need to know whether they are registered or not,” said Kelley. “They can call us and find out. If they are not registered, then they need to come in by 5 p.m. today to get registered to vote for the special election in November.”
The Stephens County Registrar’s Office is located in the StephensCountyGovernmentBuilding in downtown Toccoa.
People can also call the Registrar’s Office for more information at 706-886-8954.
Voters in Stephens County will cast ballots this November in a special election on SPLOST VI, the continuation of the one-cent Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.
In addition to the SPLOST election, voters who live in the town of Martin are casting ballots in a mayoral election this November.
Early voting for the November election begins a week from today on October 14.
