Veterans Workshops Scheduled in NE Ga.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs will conduct counseling workshops for veterans at Georgia Department of Labor career centers in Stephens and Habersham counties this week.

The first will be held today at the Toccoa Career Center’s conference room located at 37 Foreacre Street.

A second workshop will be held Thursday at the Labor Department’s Habersham Career Center located at 215 Hodges St. in Cornelia.

Both events will begin at 10 a.m.

Edward Robbins, a veterans outreach representative at the Lawrenceville VA Center, will conduct the workshops.

The workshops will offer a wide variety of counseling services, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), alcohol and drugs, bereavement, marital and family problems, along with assistance in applying for VA benefits.

Veterans should bring valid identification, including military ID cards and driver’s licenses, along with their resumes.

Department of Labor staff will be on site to assist the veterans with resume critiquing, employment counseling, and job referrals.
