Veterans Day Program Today in Toccoa

November 11, 2013

Stephens County will mark Veterans’ Day with a program today.

The county’s American Legion Post 104, Marine Corps Detachment 1303, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4346 are sponsoring the event again this year.

American Legion post 104 Adjutant William Tucker said the emphasis of the program is to honor living veterans and active duty military.

“The principal is going to be the Rev. Scott Borderud from First Alliance Church here in Toccoa,” said Tucker.

Also the program will once again recognize other patriotic and civic organizations that have done something to honor active duty military or veterans, such as presenting a flag to a local school or making a donation to another organization or military unit.

The program will begin at 11 a.m. today on the historic Stephens County Courthouse lawn in downtown Toccoa.
