Veterans Day Observance Today

Stephens County will mark Veterans’ Day with an annual observance on Wednesday.

This year’s observance is Wednesday at 11 a.m. at VFW Post 4346 on West Savannah Street in Toccoa.

The event has been moved from the courthouse lawn because recent rains have made the ground too soft for the event to be held there on Wednesday.

Again this year, the Veterans’ Day observance will be sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4346, American Legion Post 104, and U.S. Marine Corps League Currahee Mountain Detachment 1303.

The speaker this year will be Stephens County High School JROTC Commander David Priatko.

Also, the JROTC Cadet Honor Guard will present the colors and Cadet Private First Class Megan DeWitt will sing the National Anthem.

Again, this year’s Stephens County Veterans’ Day observance is set for Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the VFW Post on West Savannah Street in Toccoa.

Meanwhile, Stephens County Government offices are closed Wednesday in observance of Veterans’ Day.
