The United States Postal Service has announced deadlines for getting mail to a destination by Christmas Day.

The deadline for Express Mail International is December 11. For parcel post, the deadline is December 14. The deadline is December 20 for First-Class Mail, December 21 for Priority Mail, and December 22 for Express Mail.

Meanwhile, the Postal Service is also offering some holiday mailing tips.

The Postal Service said people should use a sturdy box large enough for packaging and cushioning, remove or mark out any conflicting address information, use pressure-sensitive or reinforced tape to secure all box flaps, and include a return address.

In addition, people should print their address in all caps, eliminate all punctuation, spell out the city name, abbreviate the state names, include apartment numbers, and use abbreviations for things like avenue, street, or lane, as well as directions like south, east, or west.
