USFS Announces Prescribed Burn For Today

The U.S. Forest Service said it will conduct a prescribed burn later today in Stephens County.

The prescribed burn will involve about 200 acres and be located in the Davis Mountain area of the county.

According to the Forest Service, the burn will be centered in the area of Davis Mountain Road and Quarry Road, right off of the Toccoa By-pass.

Today’s prescribed burn is scheduled to start at about 11 a.m. and could affect traffic on some of those roads in that area for a few hours.

Also, the burn will cause smoke that the Forest Service says will likely have a greater effect in the area of the By-pass and Eastanollee area.
