Two Arrested in Habersham During Drug Investigations

Two individuals face drug charges as a result of investigations by a regional drug agency.

According to the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office, the arrests were made last Wednesday and Thursday.

First on Wednesday, regional drug agents and the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office arrested 46-year-old David Goralczyk at his residence on Canterberry Trail in Mt. Airy and charged him with Manufacturing Marijuana.

Authorities say Habersham County authorities received several complaints from citizens about Goralczyk allegedly growing marijuana at his residence.

ARDEO agents say they went to the residence and saw a number of marijuana plants growing around the residence, along with marijuana inside the residence.

Meanwhile, ARDEO agents, the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, and the Cornelia Police Department served a search warrant on Thursday at a residence on Joe’s Way Drive in Cornelia.

During the execution of that search warrant, authorities say 20-year-old Cristian Bustos of Douglas, Georgia was arrested and charged with Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine.

According to authorities, U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement had previously intercepted a package that contained about 4 kilograms of liquid methamphetamine shipped from Mexico to the Joe’s Way Drive address.

Authorities say that liquid methamphetamine could have been converted to about 8 pounds of powder methamphetamine with a street value of approximately $358,000.

The investigation into that case continues.
