Two Arrested in Franklin Co. Drug Investigation

Two Franklin County residents face charges in connection with a narcotics investigation.

This week, the North Georgia Drug Task Force, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, and Lavonia Police arrested 30-year-old Fabian Q. Johnson of Lavonia and 20-year-old Jawanna O. Brittan of Lavonia for distributing illegal marijuana in Franklin County and the city of Lavonia.

Johnson was charged with one count of Distribution of Marijuana and one count of Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute.

Brittan was charged with one count of Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute.

Also, authorities said Johnson was currently out of prison and was on felony probation.

Johnson and Brittan were booked into the Franklin County Jail.

According to authorities, the arrests came after law enforcement officials conducted a search warrant at Johnson’s residence on Alice Street in Lavonia.

Authorities said law enforcement officials seized marijuana and several items of evidence used in the distribution of marijuana during the search.

The North Georgia Drug Task Force said it continues to investigate this matter.
