Two Arrested for Downtown Burglary

Two people face charges after an alleged burglary in Toccoa.

Officers from the Toccoa Police Department were called to a home on the 100 block of East Doyle Street in downtown Toccoa just before noon on Tuesday.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Tim Jarrell, it was a vacant house and one of the property owners arrived and discovered two people attempting to burglarize the home.

Jarrell said police arrested 32-year-old Jessie James Ausborn and 26-year-old Tonya Jane Stephens.

He said both Ausborn and Stephens were charged with burglary in connection to the incident.
