Toys for Tots Concluding Another Successful Campaign

Another successful “Toys for Tots” campaign is wrapping up in Stephens and surrounding counties.

Local “Toys for Tots” Coordinator Don Alexander said today is the last day for any families who did not pick up their toys to do so from Toys for Tots.

“Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon, they can pick up the toys at the warehouse and they know where that is,” said Alexander.

Anyone with questions should contact Alexander at 864-614-2853.

Meanwhile, Alexander said the support for “Toys for Tots” in Stephens, Franklin, and Hart counties was tremendous again this year.

He said that support helped them to support a lot of families in the three-county region.

“We want to thank everyone in the area for contributing,” said Alexander. “The count right now is about 1273 kids. That is a lot of young children that got toys.”

“Toys for Tots” is a program of the Marine Corps and Marine Corps Reserve that collects and distributes toys to children and families in need each holiday season.

Nationwide, the “Toys for Tots” program had distributed more than 469 million toys over the program’s lifetime to more than 216 million less fortunate children entering this year.
