The National Weather Service said a tornado touched down in Banks County during storms that moved through the region overnight Wednesday.
According to the Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center, it was an EF-1 tornado that touched down about one mile northeast of Homer.
The National Weather Service said the tornado produced a two-mile path of damage with numerous trees and some power poles downed along or near the Historic Homer Highway.
There were no injuries reported.
The rain and storms overnight Wednesday into Thursday dumped 1.77 inches of rain in all in downtown Toccoa.
