Toccoa Woman Arrested on Drug Charge

A Toccoa woman faces a drug charge after a recent traffic stop.

Last month, Mountain Judicial Circuit N.C.I.S. Drug Team agents, Toccoa Police investigators and officers, the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, and the National Guard Counterdrug Task Force stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of a store on BigĀ A Road.

Toccoa Police Chief Tim Jarrell said that N.C.I.S. agents searched the vehicle after the K-9 Unit gave a positive indication.

Jarrell said that search resulted in authorities locating and seizing methamphetamine.

The chief said they arrested 25-year-old Amanda Shackleford of Toccoa and charged her with one count of Possession of Methamphetamine.
