Toccoa Updating Comprehensive Plan

The city of Toccoa is updating its comprehensive plan.

Currently, the Toccoa Planning Commission has been meeting with the Georgia Mountains Regional Commission to do an update to that plan through a short-term work program.

Toccoa Planning Director Connie Tabor said a comprehensive plan is something of a roadmap for the city to follow in the years ahead.

“The comprehensive plan is a guide document for policies and capital improvement projects for the city of Toccoa,” said Tabor. “It is our guide for planning, reviewing our ordinances, and a long-term vision for what we would like our community to look like in the future.”

As part of that comprehensive plan update, the city of Toccoa will seek public input.

Tabor said the city has a survey put together for people to fill out to offer their opinions.

People can complete the survey online at the city website or Main Street website.

The city website is www.cityoftoccoa.com and the website for Main Street Toccoa is www.mainstreettoccoa.com.

Tabor said public hearings will also be scheduled for people to provide input over the coming months.

She said the goal is to complete the comprehensive plan by the middle of May.
