Toccoa unveils another historic plaque.

Last Thursday, Main Street Toccoa unveiled its latest plaque at the building housing the CPA firm Johnson & Fields, located at 161 East Doyle Street.

According to Kembra Landry with Main Street Toccoa, the building has had multiple uses since the early part of the 20th century.

“This was property was a private residence from 1918 until 1972,” said Landry. “The space was then converted for a CPA firm founded by Julius M. Johnson. The firm Johnson and Fields was the first certified public accounting firm in Toccoa.”

The historic plaque installation is the twelfth in the second series of plaques installed downtown.
