Toccoa To Hold Arbor Day Program

Despite the bitter cold temperatures and wind outside, the city of Toccoa is thinking Spring today.

The city of Toccoa will continue on and hold its annual Arbor Day ceremony today at 1 p.m. at the Schaefer Center in downtown Toccoa.

Main Street Toccoa Events Coordinator Sharon Crosby says the program is free to attend and she encourages parents and grandparents to bring out their children today for the program.

Crosby says this year’s special guest for Arbor Day is Tim Womick.

She says they are very excited to welcome Womick to Toccoa to give his talk on trees.

Crosby says Womick’s talk is sponsored by the Georgia Forestry Commission.

The entire Arbor Day program is slated to last about an hour.

Again, it starts at 1 p.m. today at the Schaefer Center and is free for the public to attend.

Anyone with questions should contact Crosby at the Main Street Toccoa office. Her phone number is 706-282-3309.
