The city of Toccoa sets its qualifying fee for the 2013 municipal election.
City commissioners approved the qualifying fee during their Monday for city commission posts.
Toccoa City Clerk Fredda Wheeler said that the qualifying fee will be set at $252.
“The qualifying fee is predicated on three percent of the salary of the positions available,” said Wheeler.
The two posts on the ballot this November in the city of Toccoa are Post 3, which is currently held by Andy Pavliscsak, and Post 5, which is currently held by Ron Seib.
Post 5, however, will be an open seat, because Seib said during Monday’s city commission meeting that he is not planning to run for re-election to the commission.
He and Pavliscsak did both recuse themselves from the vote on the qualifying fees because it involved their posts. The other commissioners passed the qualifying fee unanimously.
The qualifying period for the Toccoa municipal election will be from August 26 to August 30.
The municipal election will take place on Tuesday, November 5.
